What are the best organic foods to buy when you are on a budget? Eating organic food everyday is simply not practical with our daily grocery dollars. In the constant battle of woman versus the supermarket, I’m on the losing team the minute I hit the produce section. It’s hard to explain to my six year old that mommy wants the family to eat healthy fruit, but the organic watermelon at $1.99 a pound for a 10 pound melon won’t be making its way home with us.
But, in doing my homework, there are only 12 items that I need to buy organic. With just these 12 items, I can reduce my family’s ingestion of pesticides by 80%.
